News: Kerbedanz Polvs Arcticus Double Tourbillon GMT

Mankind, inextricably curious, has always had a passion for exploration—and navigation, like the measurement of time, requires the use of precise and accurate instruments. In an homage to the history of exploration, Kerbedanz has created the Polvs Arcticus Double Tourbillon GMT—a one off watch featuring a spectacular double tourbillon movement.

The dial, enamelled, hand-set and decorated by Kerbedanz, is divided into two halves. The tourbillon cage at the top of the dial represents the northern hemisphere, as seen from the North Pole. The deep blue of the ocean is recreated in blue transparent grand feu enamel, while the continents are picked out in gold.

Further down on the dial, the southern tourbillon cage is decorated with an elaborate astrolabe, an ancient instrument for astronomical calculation used by early astronomers and navigators to explore the globe.

The white gold dial is decorated with marine navigation motifs, including an intricate engraving of a galleon gliding through the waves and into the unknown. The bezel is set with 80 diamonds, twinkling like the stars that early adventurers used to traverse the earth. Using the manual calibre KRB7, the Polvs Arcticus has a power reserve of 3 days and features hours, minutes and a GMT display.
