Feature: Panerai Releases Submersible QuarantaQuattro in eSteel

We’ve already covered the release of Panerai’s Submersible QuarantaQuattro made in the brand’s composite Carbotech, but we’re pleased to report that they’ve also got the same model in sustainable eSteel.

Panerai has been at the forefront of sustainability in the luxury watch industry these past few years and says it is “committed to reducing waste and promoting reuse of materials”.

It’s certainly living up to that statement with the metal version of this new model, whose 44mm case, caseback and safety lock crown protection device are made of eSteel™, which is recycled steel. In fact, 52 per cent of the watch is made from recycled materials.

The model comes in three colours with gradient dials—green, grey and blue—and runs on the P.900, an automatic caliber that supports a date indication, small seconds and three-day power reserve.

The Submersible QuarantaQuattro eSteel™ is water-resistant to approximately 300 meters and comes with two straps in different materials but in the same colour (albeit a different shade) as their dial. Sticking with the theme of sustainability, one strap is composed of fabric made of recycled PET, while the second strap is made from recycled rubber.

Buying this watch, you’ll not only have an iconic and instantly recognisable timepiece from a great brand, you’re also doing your bit to save the planet.
