The Day-Date is a watch that pushed the boundaries when it was first released in 1956, as it was the first wristwatch to display the full day of the week in a special window on the dial.

Now, to add more firsts to the list, Rolex has released the Day-Date 40 in a stunning 950 platinum. Until now, the model hadn’t been released in this sought-after precious metal.

Although platinum is notoriously difficult to work with, Rolex managed to keep the Day-Date’s classic fluted bezel intact and as a result, this model possesses exceptional luminosity and an enchanting white glow that perfectly complements the icy blue hue of the dial.

This new version of the Day-Date 40 is equipped with calibre 3255, a movement at the forefront of watchmaking technology, enabling it to display the hours, minutes, seconds, day and date with ease.
