Description
From the world’s most revered historical watchmaker comes this exquisite and highly refined Grand Complications model in an 18k yellow-gold 38mm case, featuring a perpetual calendar and moonphase with retrograde date display. The white dial bears all the hallmarks of a classic timepiece from yesteryear, with ‘poire’ (or pear-shaped) hour hand and Roman numerals. It also has a leap year indicator. Patek Philippe’s heritage in producing Grand Complications watches is unrivalled, with the brand famously making pocket watches for the renowned watch-collecting banker, Henry Graves, in the early 20th century. These days it puts its most intricate complications in its wristwatches, like this fine example which is notable for its officer’s-style caseback with hinged cover redolent of old pocket watches. Flip this up and you'll find a sapphire caseback displaying the beautifully finished automatic movement with gold rotor featuring the brand’s emblematic Calatrava cross.
