Rolex Day-Date 18038
One of Rolex's most prestigious collections, the Day-Date originated in 1956 and earned its name from a special new movement that showed not just the date (at 3 o'clock) but also the day of the week in a regal-looking window at 12. The watch is often referred to as the President's watch because many US Presidents, as well as other accomplished world leaders like Winston Churchill, are known to have worn it. The watch is also known for being among the first to be officially labelled “Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified" on the dial, thanks to its excellent 1055 movement (although this later model likely features calibre 3055, which introduced the quick-set upgrade).
Due to age, this Rolex may not fall within our typical expected tolerances for timekeeping, and is no longer suitable for use in wet environments or submersion in water. In the interests of preserving original features, utmost care has been taken to sympathetically restore this watch. It has also been referenced against technical documents and manufacturer records where available to ensure authenticity and a clean history.
