Description
Founded in 1828, H. Moser & Cie has made huge strides since being relaunched in 2005 after decades of dormancy. What this watchmaker lacks in output—a relatively small 2,000 pieces a year—it makes up for in quality and a strong aesthetic identity. Despite occasionally experimenting with playful models like its square-cased Swiss Alp watch—meant to resemble an Apple watch—it is best known for its minimalist fumé dials and round cases, as with this Endeavour Moon in 18k rose gold. What looks like a simple moonphase model actually has two complications: an AM/PM indicator, represented by the small fourth hand, and a power reserve indicator visible through the exhibition caseback. It’s a superb timepiece from a small but illustrious brand that is hugely admired for the understated elegance of its designs and its technical prowess. Powered by the manual-wind HMC 348, this watch holds a huge 7-day power reserve thanks to its twin spring barrels.
