News: Rolex Cosmograph Daytona

It’s that time of year again—Baselworld 2016 is upon us. The prestigious watch and jewellery fair will open its doors tomorrow, and the watch community is abuzz with talk of what’s hot and what’s not—but Rolex has truly brought joy to the masses with an update to one of its most beloved models.

Introducing the new Cosmograph Daytona—with a 904L stainless steel case, this edition also features Rolex’s tried and tested monobloc Cerachrom bezel in sleek, black ceramic. Corrosion and scratch-resistant, as well as being invulnerable to UV rays, this high-tech bezel means that the new Daytona can live life in the fast lane just as it was intended to, without the fear of accidental scrapes or scratches.

This latest re-envisioning harks back to the black Plexiglas bezel insert of the 1965 model, giving the wearer the best of both worlds: all the best cutting-edge technology combined with a cool, classic design.

The movement is the self-winding calibre 4130, which has a power reserve of approximately 72 hours, and meets the Superlative Chronometer certification standards. The case remains a familiar 40mm in diameter, and is available on a solid-link Oyster bracelet with safety clasp.

Here at Watchfinder HQ, we’ve lovingly dubbed this new Daytona the ‘Stormtrooper’—you heard it here first, folks.
