Geneva Watch Days 2021 – The Konstantin Chaykin Wristmon Minotaur

For those not familiar with the Wristmon, it is a watch series from Russian watchmaker Konstantin Chaykin—a piece that is described as more kinematic pop art object than watch. So far, the series has featured a Joker, a Mouse King, a clown, Santa, Dracula; and now—for Geneva Watch Days 2021—the Minotaur has been added to the line-up.

Powered by a Vaucher VMF 3002 mooovement, this 42mm bronze watch looks very much like the half-man, half-bull. Two large eyes—one for the seconds and another for the hours—two ear-like crowns, horn-shaped lugs, a nose with the day in it, and a labyrinth decorated dial completes the look and pays tribute to the myth and the monster behind it.
