Description
Jaeger-LeCoultre's Memovox has an important place in diving history. Released in 1959 with a water resistance of 155m, it was one of the first watches from any brand made for serious diving. While it came a few years after the likes of the Fifty Fathoms and the Seamaster, it had something these did not: an alarm function. Removing the need for a rotating bezel, the mechanical diving alarm reminded divers when to return the surface without having to even look at the watch. This reimagined version from the prestigious brand maintains the historical case (now in PVD titanium) and the same sense of ease, while transposing it from an alarm to a chronograph complication. The stopwatch's status can be read with that trademark at-a-glance facility thanks to a window near the middle of the dial that clearly shows whether it is ready, in operation or stopped, depending on the colour.
