Warranty protection: Your guide to buying brand new watches online.
You will have seen some notices on the manufacturer’s websites alluding to the origin of watches sold on the internet. They say that you should make sure that you buy your watch from an authorised dealer. We agree whole-heartedly with that statement and that’s why every single brand new watch that we supply is sourced
from an authorised dealer and carries the full manufacturer’s international warranty.
If an authorised dealer claims that the manufacturer’s warranty is invalidated simply because the watch has been
sourced through watchfinder, consider the following scenario. If you were to buy a watch as a gift for a friend, what
they are suggesting is that because your friend didn’t walk into the shop and buy the watch with their own money, the
international warranty is somehow invalid. Clearly this is not the case as the implication would be that watches bought
as gifts carry no warranty. This situation is completely analogous to buying a watch through watchfinder. The fact that
you are buying your watch through a third party has no implications for you in terms of the warranty protection you
are entitled to.
Companies worth consideration:
You should only buy a new watch that is supplied with the full manufacturer’s warranty. This warranty will give you the name
and location of the authorised dealer who sold the watch. This enables the customer to take the watch to any authorised dealer if there
is a problem with the watch. You can also check that the watch is brand new and genuine.
Companies not worth consideration:
Companies that sell watches described as brand new without the manufacturer’s international warranty. You can’t take this
watch to the manufacturer should you need to have any work carried out during the warranty period. The cost of a service with the
manufacturer will almost always wipe out any saving made on the watch in the first place.
In addition to the massive selection of pre-owned watches we hold in stock we are also able to source a huge range of brand new watches.
Every watch we sell fits into one of two categories.
Pre-Owned
These watches have been owned and worn by a previous owner. They have all been given a full service and overhaul and are all
in immaculate condition. The manufacturer’s warranty may have expired or may have run down slightly. If it has expired completely
the watch will be supplied with a 12 month watchfinder.co.uk warranty.
Brand New
Every brand new watch supplied by watchfinder.co.uk is supplied with the manufacturer's
international warranty. The paperwork will include the name of the authorised dealer who sold the watch to us. All serial
numbers are included as is all packaging, paperwork and instruction manuals.
