Sell Your Watch

There are two ways that you can sell your watch through watchfinder.

If you would like to part exchange your watch or just sell it outright there are two ways you can do this.

Outright sales.

If your watch is one that we would like to buy outright then the process is simple. You agree a price subject to inspection, send the watch in and assuming everything is ok, either use that against another watch or receive a cheque.

The benefits.

  • Quick and simple procedure.
  • You receive immediate payment which you can either use against another watch or take via a cheque.

The process.

Once we have all the relevant information we’ll make you an offer for your watch subject to inspection. If this offer is acceptable to you, send the watch in to us. We’ll then confirm receipt when the watch arrives, check it over and if we’re happy will issue a cheque. If for some reason the original offer has to be revised we’ll discuss this and the reasons for the amendment with you directly. If you’re not happy we’ll return the watch to you by royal mail special delivery service.

Commission sales.

If for any reason you’re not happy to sell the watch outright then you can sell it for a commission on the site. This method of selling will mean that you end up with more money than you would selling the watch outright. The difference is that selling outright gets you money straight away, selling for a commission means that you may have to wait a few weeks.

The benefits.

  • A. You’ll get more money for your watch, even allowing for the commission payment and any servicing work.
  • B. Your watch will be listed in front of 350,000 different people every month, all looking for new and pre-owned watches.
  • C. You can set the sales price of your watch. We’ll advise you but the final decision is yours.

The process:

  • 1. Agree on a sales price, a servicing cost if necessary and a sales commission.* The watch remains your property until you are paid for it, in full, by watchfinder.
  • 2. Send the watch in.**
  • 3. If any servicing work is required this will be carried out on receipt. Any costs will be cleared in advance.
  • 4. Watch will be posted on the website.
  • 5. Watch is sold.
  • 6. Once cooling off period has passed a cheque will be issued.***

* Typical commission would be 10% of sale price (£75 minimum) plus the cost of any servicing work required.
** The watch becomes our responsibility once it is signed for at watchfinder. It will be protected by watchfinder’s insurance as an entrustment.
***If the watch is posted to a customer they have 7 days from receiving the watch to approve or reject the item as long as it is returned in unworn condition.

Please give us as much information about your watch as is possible.
