Jaeger LeCoultre is a Swiss Watchmaking company founded over 175 years ago by Antoine LeCoultre. Jaeger LeCoultre takes its current name from the partnership of LeCoultre with Edward Jaeger, which gave birth to the Jaeger LeCoultre brand in the 1930s. Jaeger LeCoultre watches focus on beauty as well as prescision, and this stems from Jaeger LeCoultre's history.

The history of Jaeger LeCoultre watches goes back over 175 years when LeCoultre was a leading supplier of watch parts and movements to many of the biggest Swiss watchmakers such as Vacheron, Audemars, IWC, and Patek Philippe. When LeCoultre joined forces with Edmund Jaeger in the 1930s, the company took a new direction, introducing its own line of watches - manufactured completely in-house. In 1844, Jaeger LeCoultre measured the micron for the first time; creating the world's most precise measuring instrument, the millionometer (a device capable of measuring to the nearest thousandths of a millimetre). In 1847, Jaeger LeCoultre created a revolutionary system that eliminated the need for keys to rewind and set watches. A push-piece activated a lever to change from one function to another. Throughout the 20th Century, Jaeger LeCoultre designed many firsts including the world's thinnest pocket watch movement, the Duoplan watch, the world's smallest movement Caliber 101 and the 8 day double-barrel wristwatch Caliber 124. In 2000 Richemont (Cartier, Baume & Mercier, Piaget, IWC and Mt. Blanc) acquired Jaeger LeCoultre. The most noted and distinguishable watch range for Jaeger LeCoultre is the Reverso, first created and patented in 1931. For women, Jaeger LeCoultre has many different Reverso models with numerous diamond combinations. In 1961, Jaeger LeCoultre produced the Deep Sea Alarm - the world's first dive watch with alarm movement. A few years later, Jaeger Le Coultre took part in creating the first quartz wristwatch. Then in the 80s came the Grand Réveil, a perpetual calendar comprising no less than 350 parts. Jaeger LeCoultre's most recent watch collection is the"Master Control" series. These round watches come in a variety of different styles.

Their size is large compared to the rest of the line, and often appeals to men looking for something between a Patek and a Breitling. Jaeger LeCoultre also manufactures the Atmos clock (after purchasing the patent from Jean-Leon Reutter, who invented it in 1920). To this day, Jaeger LeCoultre is one of the few companies in Switzerland that still produces its own movements, cases, dials, hands, and bracelets. Virtually every single component in a Jaeger LeCoultre watch is hand-finished, and produced in-house. Jaeger LeCoultre also have their own in-house testing facility, and put all Jaeger LeCoultre watches through the Jaeger LeCoultre 1000 hours watch trial.
